William Pridham

Pony Express rider, Agent, Superintendent

"Billy" Pridham came west seeking gold, and found work delivering for Wells Fargo. In 1863, Pridham rode for Wells Fargo’s Virginia City, Nevada pony express. Later in life he remarked that “Much romance has been injected…in the history of the Pony Express, but my own experience compels me to say it was a stern reality.” In 1868, Pridham settled in Los Angeles County and ran a Wells Fargo office there for thirty years.
