Located at the site where Wells Fargo first opened for business in 1852, the museum tells the story of how Wells Fargo provided banking and express services to pioneers in Gold Rush San Francisco.

Book a Group Visit

We are open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed on bank holidays). Admission is free.

Tours are available for school classes and other groups, depending on available tour guides.
  • Small groups and families can enjoy a self-guided experience using their smart devices and through our many interactive exhibits.
  • Large drop-in groups need to schedule their visit with the museum in advance.
