Learn how Wells Fargo connected Oregon communities by stagecoach and steamboats on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Enjoy the museum on your own, or set up a free guided tour.
Free programs that come to you
We are taking our children and adult programs on the road while the museum is under renovation. Have your children learned financial literacy? Do they know about Oregon’s gold rushes? In our education programs, children engage in hands-on activities that show how money moves around communities today and during Oregon’s gold rushes. Do you have a Scouts troop? By participating in our programs, Scouts earn fun patches and learn about budgets, banks, and money management. Would your senior center be interested in a free program? Our adult program focuses on how innovation has sped up the movement of money, made money more secure, and offered new ways to borrow money.
Located in downtown Portland, the museum is a short walk from the Portland Art Museum and the Oregon Historical Society. NOTE: Our Portland Museum will be temporarily closed for renovations beginning August 11,
2018 through September 3, 2019.
