Letters from California

Wells Fargo worked with other express companies to forward letters to their destinations. These letters were sent by Adams and Co. Express, Cram Rogers and Co. Express, Crooks Express, and the Langton and Brothers Yuba River Express.

No. 1351 Sent by Adams and Co. Express from Stockton, California to Mr. Martel in San Francisco. Inside is a letter dated January 4, 1852, from Chevalier and Co.

No. 1352 Sent by Adams and Co. Express from Crescent City to A. M. Rosborough in Yreka, California.

No. 1353 Sent by Adams and Co. Express from Mormon Island, California to A. P. Catlin in the Senate Chambers at Benicia. Inside is a letter dated March 10, 1853, from C. Nichols.

No. 1354 Sent by Adams and Co. Express to William Walker in Sacramento, California. Delivered from Jacksonville, Oregon Territory to Yreka by Cram Rogers and then carried by Adams and Co.

No. 1355 Sent to G. C. Whiting in Washington D. C. Delivered by Crooks Express to Yreka where it was delivered east by the U.S. Postal Service.

No. 1356 Sent by Langton and Brothers Yuba River Express to Elias Lyman in White River Junction, Vermont.
