The Wells Fargo History Museum is located in Uptown Charlotte adjacent to Levine Center for the Arts in Three Wells Fargo.

Our museum highlights gold mining in North Carolina, the beginnings of Wachovia, and Wells Fargo history.

In addition to a rare Concord stagecoach, built in the mid-19th century, the museum includes a model of a Wachovia branch opened in Winston-Salem in 1889. There are interactive exhibits, including:

  • A replica stagecoach you can climb aboard
  • An interactive telegraph
  • A recreation of an underground mine tunnel
  • A multi-touch table where you can pan for gold
  • Gold nuggets and rare coins
